The excitement hasn’t stopped growing since the announcement that the Detroit Red Wings would be moving in the Fall of 2017 to the recently named new Little Caesars Arena. Watching the new arena take shape, and hearing about the new businesses to be included in the new District Detroit and the impact on new jobs and opportunities, has Detroit and all of Michigan excited.
On November 22, Tom Gores added to that excitement as he announced to the world that for the first time in nearly 40 years, all four of Detroit’s professional sports teams would play in the city - because the Detroit Pistons will be joining the Detroit Red Wings in the new arena for the 2017-18 season. “We want to be all in on Detroit” was the repeated mantra by Tom Gores as he struck a deal with the Ilitch family to move downtown and join forces in developing sports and entertainment for the city of Detroit.
“We can’t wait for the new arena” has been the mantra at JPI even before the formal groundbreaking produced by JPI for District Detroit and the new arena back in the Fall of 2014. Stay tuned as we all look to see what develops in a very promising future for broadcast and live events in the District Detroit and the Little Caesars Arena.
